Knit lounge set - Stellan Tee & Pipit Loungewear shorts
Top pattern: FREE Stellan Tee by French Navy Patterns
Bottoms pattern: Shorts from the Pipit Loungewear set by Common Stitch
Fabric: Knit from Joann’s
It’s feeling like summer already here in Southern California! To make these warm days a little more enjoyable, I sewed up a knit lounge set. How cool is the print on the fabric? I couldn’t leave Joann’s without it. The print reminds me of MC Escher, a “Dutch graphic artist who made mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints. Despite wide popular interest, Escher was for long somewhat neglected in the art world, even in his native Netherlands. He was 70 before a retrospective exhibition was held.” I’m sad to hear you weren’t beloved in your time, Escher, but your name lives on in 2021.
The top is a TNT (tried and true) pattern - my “perfect boxy t-shirt” Stellan hack. To get this fit, I followed @andrea_djones Boxy Tee Hack available on her story highlights. Check it out and make the tee of your dreams! I used 1/4” seam allowance everywhere except the side seams, which were 1/2”. I love the fit of this shirt so much I’ve made 6 versions. When you perfect the boxy tee, you must make a ton of them, right? Them’s the rules.
The shorts are from the Pipit Loungewear Set pattern. I ended up doing a bit of fitting on me because I didn’t like how huge they were in the knit.
Lounge sets forever.
