It’s on the edge of summer here in Oak View. We live 15 min. from Ventura’s beaches, which tends to run about 10 degrees cooler, but aren’t able to enjoy them fully at the moment because of Covid-19 gathering restrictions. I’m on a mission to make several warm weather outfits to keep me cool (aka not grumpy!).

The tank top is an easy make, and an easy wear. I’m very appreciative of this free pattern! I enjoy the neckline. Next time I will do a narrow shoulder adjustment because the straps keep wanting to fall off my shoulders. This is a typical adjustment for me.
I plan to make several more tank tops, as well as a tank dress to wear around the house/to sleep. I’ll draft the pattern using a night dress I have worn holes through, so I know how long and wide to make the dress.
Something I’m curious about trying is a knit (or woven?) wrapped binding around the neck and armholes.. would that just be a nightmare with this stretchy material?

I am really happy that I made the Pomona shorts, as I see myself getting a lot of wear out of them. I don’t often find shorts that fit and are comfortable, but these really are! This is the magic of sewing.
I didn’t make any alterations to the pattern. There are no side seams, which make sewing them even quicker than you’d think. I’m wondering if I should go back and lower the rise by a couple of inches? I know it’s a high rise style but I think the proportions look off on my body, because I kind of see myself as having a short torso. I’m going to wear them for a while before I do anything crazy! Stay tuned ;)
